Have you ever been inspired by a color before? I was totally inspired by the gorgeous color Umber when creating The Parker Throw. I love the rusty, burnt orange/brown hue and new that it needed to become a warm and cozy throw blanket.
I knew I wanted to use a textured, yet simple stitch for the main body of the blanket and one that would pair nicely with a garter stitch border. The knit waffle stitch is exactly that! It’s super easy to make and creates the most eye catching design. Plus, the garter stitch edging ensures that the blanket will lay flat. An added bonus is that the entire Parker Throw is made using just knit and purl stitches so it’s perfect for beginners. It’s also great for when you need a mindless project to work on while you binge watch Love Is Blind ;)
If you’d like to see the stitch in action, I’ve made a video tutorial on how to knit the waffle stitch over on my YouTube channel which you can check out below.
Lion Brand’s Pound of Love is my favorite yarn to use for blankets. Not only do you get a ton of yardage (1020yrds!) in each skein, but it also comes in the most beautiful colors. The kit comes with 3 skeins of Pound of Love in the color of your choice plus a digital copy of the pattern. Head to the link below to get your kit today!
