Fall is my favorite season. I love the leaves changing colors, the pumpkin flavored treats and the cool mornings and evenings. Here in California the weather stays pretty mild even through winter, so when I wanted to design an oversized sweater, I knew I needed it to be lightweight and airy. The Ranie Sweater is just that. The open stitches and cotton yarn make this the perfect Fall garment for when you need an extra layer in the mornings, but don’t want to be overheated by the afternoon.

Lion Brand Yarn’s new Oh Baby Organic Cotton is quickly becoming one of my new favorites. It’s light weight and soft plus it comes in some beautiful colors. If you grab the kit from Lion Brand you’ll get all the yarn you need plus a digital copy of the pattern. You can even add on extras like crochet hooks and tapestry needles too. Head to the link below to grab your kit today!

I used a simple pattern repeat and a slightly larger hook than recommended to give the Ranie an airy feel that works up quickly. The v-neck and 3/4 length sleeves flatter all figures.

Plus starting October 21st I’ll be hosting a casual crochet along over in my Meghan Makes Crew Facebook group. We will be working up the Ranie in sections and I’ll be posting video tutorials each week to help you along the way. It’s the perfect excuse to grab a kit and make something special for yourself this season.
