Gauge:
16 stitches X 22 rows = 4” square in csc, sc BLO ribbing.
Size:
Adult- approx. 21” around and 9” high when closed.
Notes:
1.Pattern is worked in the round throughout.
2.The brim is worked in one piece and then folded in half and ends are joined together during the first round of the main body.
3.Ch 1 does not count as a stitch, ch 3 does count as a stitch.
4.Pattern is worked in multiples of 4 sts. Adjust the size of the hat by adding or subtracting beginning chains by 4.
To close your hat, fold it in half and sew one stitch going through the seam and the other side of the hat. This will create two loops. Bring the center of each loop into the center of the hat and sew a stitch. This will create four loops.
Sew the center of each of those loops to the center of the hat. There will now be 8 loops. Sew the center of each of those loops into the center of the hat. Bring tail into the inside of the hat and tie a knot.
Weave in ends. Attach a pom-pom if desired. You can view my diy faux fur snap on pom tutorial here.
