The Zodiac Collection
When I was invited to teach a class for a crochet summit on how to turn words into a corner-to-corner (C2C) crochet design, I wanted to create a project that was both fun and meaningful. As I started designing, the idea of making a blanket for each zodiac sign popped into my head. What began as one design quickly turned into all twelve!
These patterns have been patiently waiting behind the scenes, and I'm so excited to finally start sharing them with you. I decided to begin with Virgo because, well...I'm a Virgo! Since I'm only making one physical sample for the collection, I wanted it to be a design that felt especially personal. The Virgo blanket you see here is the only blanket I've crocheted, while the remaining eleven patterns include digital previews to help you visualize the finished design.
Over the coming year, I'll be releasing all twelve Zodiac C2C Blanket patterns for free here on the blog. Whether you're crocheting your own sign, making a thoughtful birthday gift, or collecting the entire series, I hope these blankets bring a little extra personality and fun to your crochet projects.
Each blanket in the Zodiac C2C Blanket Collection features a bold graphic representing one of the twelve astrology signs. Every pattern includes:
A printable color chart
Written row-by-row instructions
A beginner-friendly Corner-to-Corner (C2C) crochet tutorial
Tips for changing colors and keeping your project organized
Even though each design is unique, they're all made using the same blanket size and yarn quantities, making it easy to create one or eventually collect all twelve!
If you want to get started on your sign right away you can purchase the complete collection now in my shop or grab a kit from Lion Brand Yarn. The kit comes with enough yarn for one blanket, but you’ll get all 12 designs! Head to the links below to check them out.

Meet Virgo
Virgo Season: August 23 – September 22
Element: Earth 🌿
Ruling Planet: Mercury
Symbol: The Maiden
Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac and is often associated with thoughtfulness, practicality, and a love for the little details. As an earth sign, Virgos tend to appreciate things that are both beautiful and functional, and they're often happiest when they can create, organize, or help others.
Ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and learning, Virgos are naturally curious and enjoy mastering new skills. They're known for their careful attention to detail, dependable nature, and the satisfaction they get from seeing a project come together one step at a time. Qualities that many crocheters can probably relate to!
Of course, no two Virgos are exactly alike, and astrology is simply a fun way to celebrate our personalities and interests. Whether you read your horoscope every day or just love the symbolism of your zodiac sign, this blanket is a cozy way to celebrate a Virgo birthday or create a thoughtful handmade gift for someone born during Virgo season.
As a Virgo myself, it felt only fitting that this would be the first blanket in the Zodiac C2C Blanket Collection. I hope you enjoy stitching it as much as I enjoyed designing it!

Notes:
1.Blanket is worked using the corner to corner method.
2.You will increase or decrease at the beginning of each row.
3.If it says to increase at the beginning of the row that is how you will work the first tile. The increase is included in the first set of stitches listed.
4.If it says decrease at the beginning of a row, work a decrease, then start as normal working into the ch3 you just slip stitched into.
5.A graph has been provided. Written instructions for each blanket is listed after the graph.
6.The graph is read from the bottom right corner to the top left corner.
7.Once you hit the bottom left corner you will be decreasing on the left hand side and increasing on the right hand side until you hit the top right corner. Then you will decrease at the beginning of each row until the end.

Rows 162-190: work all squares in color A, decreasing at the beginning of each row.
Fasten off and weave all ends to WS.
Now you are ready to snuggle up with the your new blanket. If you make one, I’d love to see it. Make sure to tag me @meghanmakesdo on socials and use #thezodiaccollection so I can share.
As always you can get a digital PDF version of this pattern in my shop, Etsy and Ravelry, or as a complete kit from Lion Brand Yarn.
Happy Crocheting,
Meghan
