I’m thrilled to be bringing you the brand new Thatcher Scarf today! It’s one of my favorite designs I’ve ever made and I love the uniqueness of the contrasting colors.
I was in desperate need of a mindless project to work on during these cold winter months. I love having some easier projects in my que to take a break from the more complicated designing projects or larger projects that use up a bit more mental energy. The problem is, some of the more basic projects just don’t have that WOW factor that I love. I’ve been experimenting more with using multiple colors in one project and it has blown my mind a bit at how gorgeous a stitch can become when switching up the colors a bit.
The Thatcher Scarf uses basic stitches in a unique way to create a stunning design. It reminds me a bit of hounds tooth, but is way easier to make. Using just single crochet and single crochet spike stitch you can create this beautiful scarf using your favorite two colors.
Special thanks to Lion Brand Yarn for providing yarn support for this project. I used their ultra lush Superwash Merino in the colors Antique and (color of the year) Terracotta. This color combo is just gorgeous! You can also find the complete kit of The Thatcher Scarf which includes all the yarn you need in the colors of your choice as well a digital copy of the pattern. Find it at the link below.
