The Taya Tank-Free Crochet Pattern

The Taya Tank-Free Crochet Pattern

The Taya Tank crochet pattern is worked top down and features a wavy stitch that is simple to create. Its slight a-line shape and modest neckline make it a flattering "throw on and go" style. Create your own stylish and versatile top with your three favorite colors of Coboo.

Squeezing in one more Summer design before we dive into all the Fall things.

There are still plenty of warm sunny days ahead and what better way to enjoy them than with a brand new crochet tank?

The Taya is the sister design to the knit Tesni Tank I released earlier this Summer and don’t tell Tesni, but I think I may like Taya a bit more. I decided to go with a neutral color palette and worked the Taya top down instead of bottom up. I originally had wanted to do a dress version of Taya and knew that working top down would allow me to do both. I ran out of time because…life happens, but I still have plans to add a dress variation later this year.

The Taya also has a slightly different style a the top. She ended up giving me some trouble when it came to adding the increases for the body which meant I had to do a LOT of frogging on this one. Just when I thought I had it all figured out and went to get some photos, I realized the armholes were just way too big and the fit wasn’t what it should be. Instead of frogging the entire thing and starting over I decided to change up the neck and armholes by doing a ribbed edging around the arms instead of the neck like the Tesni. It made such a huge difference and I actually prefer this style over the original.

I’m so pleased with the final piece. I loved using different colors and striping and can’t wait to see the color combos you come up with too.

Coboo comes in so many colors you’ll have no problem finding your favorites. In case you need some inspiration I’ve included a few color combo ideas that I think would look great.

I’ve also included a complete video tutorial for the Taya so you’ll be able to see exactly how to make yours. I do recommend following along with written pattern while watching.

I hope you love making your Taya as much as you will love wearing it.
