Happy New Year, my friends! It’s hard to believe we’re already at the very end of 2025. This year truly flew by, especially these past few months.

The start of a new year always feels like a fresh beginning to me, a chance to reorganize and reevaluate the things in my life. Right now, I am fully leaning into that mindset. Over the past week, my husband and I have been decluttering and reorganizing every single inch of our home so our space can work better for our family.

If you want to see some of that progress, you can check it out over on my Instagram. Most of what I’ve shared so far is my sewing area, which had slowly turned into the dumping ground for all the projects we didn’t quite have time to deal with. Getting that space back in order has felt especially good.

As part of the process, I’ve been sorting through all of my fabrics and yarns, organizing everything so I can finally start working through my stash. One of my favorite ways to keep yarn organized is with baskets, especially handmade ones!

That worked out perfectly because I was able to whip up a set of new nesting baskets just in time for the new year. These baskets are not only super cute, but incredibly functional. They come in three different sizes and nest neatly inside one another for easy storage when they’re not holding yarn. They also double as project baskets, making them perfect for keeping a WIP close by while you work.

I plan to use these baskets all throughout 2026 to help keep my projects organized. One of my goals for the year is to work through as much of my fabric and yarn stash as possible, so I have a feeling I’ll be reaching for these baskets again and again.

 Why You’ll Love This Pattern

  • Designed for real-life organizing – With small, medium, and large sizes included, these baskets are perfect for everything from yarn and notions to current WIPs, and they nest together for easy storage when not in use.

  • Modern texture with simple techniques – The geometric design is created using tapestry crochet, giving you bold colorwork without complicated shaping, all worked in the round. If you’re new to tapestry crochet, don’t worry, I’ve included a video tutorial too!

  • Sturdy, eco-friendly, and fast to make – Made with Lion Brand Re-Spun Thick & Quick, these baskets work up quickly and hold their shape beautifully, making them as practical as they are satisfying to crochet.
