Curl up this winter with this fun and cozy graphgan. Using a new twist on corner to corner crochet, you’ll have this baby made up in no time. Scroll down for the free graph pattern or grab the PDF with graph, written instructions and a mini c2c photo tutorial in my shop, Etsy or Ravelry.
I first shared this pattern back in September as a part of the 30 Days of Cozy pattern bundle, but figured it was about time I added it here too! I’ve been getting quite a bit of use out of this cozy lap blanket and I’m sure you will too. It’s perfect for snuggling up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa.
The Baby It’s Cold Outside blanket is my fifth C2C graphgan. Last year I released four Holiday Graphgans and knew that I wanted to add a new one to the collection this year. This time I decided to try something a bit different…mini corner to corner! It’s just like regular corner to corner, but made with half double crochet instead of double crochet. It creates a more dense fabric and uses slightly less yarn.
The great thing about the Baby It’s Cold Outside Graphgan is that you can make it using either technique. I’ve included yardage and instructions for both in the digital PDF pattern which you can find in my shop. If you’d rather stick with the free graph only version using mini corner to corner you can find that below.
If you are new to the corner to corner technique you can find tutorials for how to corner to corner, how to mini corner to corner and how to change colors in corner to corner on the blog.

You will increase or decrease at the beginning of each row. If it says to increase at the beginning of the row that is how you will work the first tile. If it says decrease at the beginning of a row, work a decrease, then start as normal working into the ch2 you just slip stitched into.

Finished size is approx. 41”X46”
Gauge:
6 tiles X 6 tiles = 4” square in mini corner to corner stitches
To make your graphgan simply follow the graph from the bottom left to the upper right, switching colors where indicated. For full written out instructions for each row you can grab the ad-free PDF in my shop. It also includes a larger graph size and photo tutorial. Grab it at the link below.
