Hello Summer! Hello kids home and wanting to know what we are gonna do each day. Summer is great, but when you’re a work from home mom, having the kids home all day long again can be a challenge. Luckily for me, my friends over at Annie’s sent me a Creative Girl Kit to try. It’s the perfect thing to keep my daughter busy and having fun this summer.
My daughter was so excited when the kit arrived in the mail. She loved opening it up and seeing what projects were inside. We received two projects in our kit, a Wooden Block Dream set and a fun Rain Forest Sand Art kit.
We decided to start with the Wooden Blocks Dream set. My son wanted to get in on the fun too, so both kids picked the colors they wanted to use and got to work painting their blocks. I loved that it came with small tubes of paint so we had just what we needed for the project. The paint came out fast when I poked the top so it was good that we had some paper down on the table.
Once the blocks were fully painted and dried my daughter used the cardboard cut outs to decorate the blocks. It came with so many cute things to choose from. I gave her some glue and let her decorate them however she liked. She then used the extras to make her friends some pictures and now likes to use the cardboard as stencils!
The next day we decided to do the Rain Forest Sand Art kit. We did this one while my son was napping and Emerson needed a bit of extra help with this one too. I loved that the sand art came as a peel and pour kit so we didn’t need any extra glue. It was just a bit tricky in some areas to get the stickers off. Using a pin was super helpful, but a bit tricky for my daughter to do on her own. We loved working on it together.
The kit came color coded to match all the different sand and it was so much fun to see it all come together. Every time my daughter would shake the sand off she would exclaim “wow!” with excitement.
We finished the other two animals with the help of my son later that day and they love having them on display in their room now.
We loved the Create Girl Kit from Annie’s! We have done other crafty subscriptions before but this one is such high quality and so affordable that it’s quickly becoming on of our favorites.
