A Day Away
Right now my house is a mess. I have two recently stained dressers and all their drawers cluttering up my dining room, E's quilt is still in pieces on my ironing board, toys are scattered throughout the house and there is endless laundry and dishes just waiting to be done.
Today I don't care. Today I just need a day away from the house to have fun and be silly with my kids. Luckily for us there are plenty of options to choose from. One of our favorites is the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Just a short drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, nestled next to the water is a fabulous place where kids and adults can just have fun.
One of the things I love about the BADM is that they are constantly changing exhibits and activities so every time we go there is something different to explore. Today they had a special activity set up in the Tot Spot area where the kids could explore the chemical reaction between vinegar and baking soda in a super fun colorful way. We will definitely be trying this one at home.
They have an amazing space just for little ones called the Tot Spot where the kids can play in the stream, explore a cave, climb squishy rocks and jump on water filled jumping pillows.
We ended our day in the train room. Both kids love to push the trains around the track and its the perfect height from them to manipulate them on their own. We also hit up the art studios, the outdoor play area and the large building block space. There is so much to do an explore that it never gets boring.
The other thing I love about this place is that every first Wednesday of the month it's free admission. I'm a thrifty mama who loves a good deal so I try to take advantage of that as much as possible. And today I would much rather pretend to be a cowboy and melt colorful ice cubes with my kiddos than even think about the mess at home.
